‘World Mental Health Day’ observations at Department of Psychology

Aligarh : A series of events and awareness programmes to mobilise efforts and support those experiencing mental health issues were held at the Department of Psychology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) to mark the ‘World Mental Health Day’ observations on the theme ‘Make mental health a global priority for all’.

“Activities such as the Sharing Circle, Vent Wall and Gratitude Wall were organised for mental health awareness. Students also participated in a poster-making contest and Neo-FFI, a personality assessment inventory, and the assessment of Span of Attention was also administered”, said Prof Asma Parveen (Chairperson, Department of Psychology).

Dr Heena Parveen (Teacher In-Charge) emphasised: “Since there is spurt in mental illness in the post-pandemic world due to intense emotional stress; awareness programmes on mental health must be conducted on a regular basis.

A special highlight of the event was the counseling service provided to students by Dr Mohammad Akram. The session was organised by the Psychological Society.
