German language students visit Goethe Institut #G20

ALIGARH : A group of 40 students and 3 faculty members of the German section, Department of Foreign Languages, Aligarh Muslim University visited the Goethe-Institut, New Delhi as part of the G20 Summit celebrations.

The Goethe-Institut is a non-profit German cultural association working worldwide with 159 institutes and promoting the study of the German language and encouraging international cultural exchange and relations.

Faculty members Mr Syed Salman Abbas, Dr Shiv Prakash Yadav and Dr Subair PM interacted with different section heads of the Goethe-Institut on the possibilities of future cooperation and knowledge exchange.

Mrs Puneet Kaur (Head, Educational Cooperation Project) and Mrs Sonia Sahgal, Goethe-Institut spoke on the possibility of opening a Centre for Goethe Exams in the Department of Foreign Languages, AMU. The team also interacted with Mrs Farah Batool and Kanika Kuthiala, Cultural Programme Coordinators. Priyam Gupta spoke on the different cultural offerings of the Institute, which was followed by a quiz competition on the themes of culture and history of Germany.
