Aligarh : International workshop on “Clinical Orthopedic Biomechanics in Sport” concludes at the Department of Physical Education on 20th November.

Twenty-five eminent resource persons including medical experts, orthopedic surgeons, biomechanical engineers, rehabilitation professionals, physical educationists, and industry experts; worldwide were given 25 practical training sessions chaired by 44 eminent faculty members to 140 registered participants in the seven-day international workshop on clinical orthopedic biomechanics in sport (IWCOBIS-22) .

 

The Chief Guest on the occasion Mr Mohammad Imran, IPS, Registrar of AMU, enlightened the audience on the subject and appreciated the efforts for organising the workshop. He emphasized on the area between sports injuries and rehabilitation.

Later, he distributed certificates to the participants.

 

The Guest of honour on the occasion Prof Afifullah Khan said that through this workshop, we all can understand the state-of-the-art in biomechanics across all musculoskeletal system tissues, at all scales, with direct applicability to engineering and clinical applications in sports.

 

Prof Tariq Murtaza, Chairman Department of Physical Education in his remark said the workshop has enlightened us for the understanding of the role of biomechanics in preventing and managing sports injury.

 

In the valedictory programme, Prof Brij Bhushan Singh, an exercise physiologist, spoke on a new paradigm, “Orthopaedic Sports Biomechanics,” for the understanding of the role of orthopedic biomechanics in preventing and managing sports injury.

 

Prof Fazelur Rehman was the convener of this international workshop. Dr Mohd Arshad Bari, organising secretary, presents the workshop report.
