Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan holds series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Mauritius, Tanzania, Zimbabwe & Ghana

Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Minister Dharmendra Pradhan held a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Mauritius, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Ghana, in New Delhi on Thursday. Meeting Vice PM and Tertiary Education, Science & Technology Minister of Mauritius, Mr Pardhan said that India will work with Mauritius for establishing it as a knowledge and skills hub of Africa and South-east Asia. Meeting his Zanzibar counterpart Lela Muhamed Mussa, Mr Pradhan expressed the country’s willingness to establish a 21st century skill centre in Zanzibar alongside the IIT in Tanzania.

Mr Pradhan also suggested for a joint working group on education, skill development and capacity building between India and Zimbabwe to its Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science & Technology Development Deputy Minister Raymore Machingura. During a meeting with Ghana’s Deputy Education Minister John Ntim Fordjour, Mr Pradhan proposed for setting up of institutional mechanisms and joint working groups from pre-school to research for achieving mutual priorities.

On the other hand, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar had also interacted with the Education Ministers of 11 African countries on Thursday.

Ministers from these foreign countries are in India to attend The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) India Africa Hackathon 2022.
