The students and alumni from the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy and Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences will spend a year studying a Master’s degree in Global Affairs at Schwarzman College on the campus of Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.

The scholarship recipients from King’s include:

Konstantin Klingler (currently studying Philosophy, Politics & Economics)
Theodore Nash (currently studying Electronic Engineering)
Kléber Paucar Molina (currently studying International Relations)
Jing Sun (a King’s alumni who studied International Relations)
They are among 151 candidates from 36 countries and 121 universities around the world who were awarded scholarships, out of almost 3,000 who applied for the opportunity.

The application process, which is designed to identify leadership potential, intellect, and strength of character, includes an interview with panels of CEOs, government officials, university presidents, journalists, and non-profit executives.

The newly-announced cohort – the eighth since the programme began – will enrol in August 2023 and join a total network of more than 1,000 Schwarzman Scholars to date from 88 countries and 390 institutions worldwide.

The scholarships were founded in 2015 by Stephen A Schwarzman with the aim of building a global network of young leaders able to tackle pressing global challenges.

As the geopolitical landscape grows more complex each day, I am inspired by this year’s selected Scholars and their readiness to engage thoughtfully with global issues and drive change. We are confident that this inspiring cohort of young leaders will make the most of this unique opportunity.
– Stephen A Schwarzman
Congratulations, eighth cohort! I see great potential, diversity, and talent in this group. I am sure these young leaders will enrich the community at Schwarzman College, at Tsinghua University, and beyond.
– Xue Lan, Dean of Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University
