KIIT DU Kicks Off International Women’s Day Celebrations

Bhubaneswar : The KIIT DU on Wednesday kicked off a series of events to mark International Women’s Day being observed on March 8.

A special talk on ‘Women, Law and Leadership’ was organised during the day at the KIIT School of Law. It was addressed by KIIT Vice Chancellor Prof Sasmita Samanta, Director of KIIT School of Law Dr. Bhavani Prasad Panda, Faculties of Policy Studies, Doshisha University at Kyoto, Japan Prof Keiji Kawai and Prof Akira Kawaguchi. Other faculty members who spoke were Prof Paromita Chattoraj, Prof Binita Behera, and Prof Soumya Mohapatra. Among others, Dr. Sucheta Priyabadini, Director, Student Counselling; Dr. Shradhanjali Nayak, Director, PR and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.

International Women’s Day is celebrated every year to celebrate the achievements of women and mark a call to action for gender equality. The day also aims to draw attention to issues faced by women and advocate for women’s emancipation

A dialogue on Women in Digital Space will be held tomorrow as part of the series of events lined up to commemorate the day. A seminar will be held a day after on the topic “Reproductive Health” at KIMS.
