Mumbai: KJ Somaiya Institute of Dharma Studies, part of Somaiya Vidyavihar University, in association with KJ Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce (Autonomous), KJ Somaiya College of Education, SK Somaiya College of Arts, Science and Commerce, and The Somaiya School, announces ‘Jashn-e-Itihaas’, an event focused on celebrating culture and history.

The festival is going to be a two-day ordeal, and will be held between 2nd and 3rd March, 2023 at the Somaiya Vidyavihar Campus, Mumbai.

‘Jashn-e-Itihaas’ aims to spread awareness about India’s culture, heritage and history through engaging, educational activities; inculcating a spirit of enquiry interspersed with cultural shows. A plethora of workshops, competitions, and games will be held on the theme of ‘Shakti’. This festival is perfect for history and archeology enthusiasts, or for anyone who cherishes and wishes to celebrate our country’s vibrant culture and creativity.

Some of the events that the festival is set to host are – Kalākr̥ti (a canvas painting competition), Mr̥dakalā (a clay molding competition), Vākovākyam (a quiz competition), Nr̥tyakalā (a dance competition), Bhūmikā (a role-play competition), Lipyantaram (a ‘Sharada lipi’ workshop), Hirakaṇī (a A Maharashtrian folk performance that salutes the courage and tenacity of a mother), a yoga demonstration and Mr̥dbhāṇḍa Paramparā (a pottery making workshop).
