Indian Prosthodontic Society Organises Golden Jubilee Conference with the Theme – ‘Golden Glory with Gold Standards’

New Delhi: Indian Prosthodontics Society organised its 50th year (Golden Jubilee) conference to celebrate the golden glory with the gold standard at Leela Ambience Convention Hotel, Vishwas Nagar, Shahdara, New Delhi. It was a 4-day conference including a pre-conference scheduled from November 10-13, 2022. The conference congregated a galaxy of experts (prosthodontists) from all over the world who shared their research findings and insights and personal experiences in a scientific environment. The conference comprised a variety of activities such as scientific deliberations, table-clinics, scientific paper presentations, Golden Jubilee Rally Torch walk and free screening camp for raising health awareness, and a trade exhibition. Around 3000 delegates participated in the conference.

Chief Guest, Mr Rajesh Bhushan, IAS, Secretary (H&FW), Govt., of India inaugurated this mega conference on November 11, 2022, in the presence of ‘Guest of Honour Prof. Yogesh Singh, Vice Chancellor, Delhi University and Dr Abhijat Sheth, President, National Board of Examinations. Dr V Rangarajan, President of IPS presided over the conference.

 

Elated on the 50th Golden Jubilee Conference of the Indian Prosthodontic Society, Chairperson of 50th IPS Conference, Padma Shri Awardee and renowned Indian Prosthodontist Prof (Dr) Mahesh Verma, Vice Chancellor Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, said, “We are rejoicing in the Golden Jubilee of the accomplishments and successes of our speciality in Prosthodontics in India after being officially established five decades ago, as the prestigious Indian Prosthodontic Society (IPS). I welcome all the participants from across the world warmly to the 50th IPS conference and extend my heartfelt thanks for making it so grand. I am honoured by hosting a large number of experts from across the world who have shared their insightful experiences post-COVID-19 pandemic, which is an eye-opener in many aspects, especially in preventive healthcare.”

 

Deliberating further Dr Verma added, “At one end of the spectrum the demand for avant-garde care of our consumers (patient pool) has been increasing, at the other end, our service providers have been up and coming to render exemplary services. Regular training courses and accreditations are instrumental in bridging this chasm, and the 50th Indian Prosthodontic Society (IPS) conference is one such event fulfilling this purpose. This conference is not only the celebration of our accomplishments, but it also reminds us ‘eureka moment’ that has ‘fortified Prosthodontic practice’ and each ‘road block’ that has spurred ‘an innovation and discovery’ since its inception 50 years ago. By commemorating the Golden Jubilee of IPS, we have made the recent developments in the arena of Prosthodontics public.”

 

The 50th Golden Jubilee Conference hosted by the Indian Prosthodontic Society has commemorated all the advancements that have benefited the field of prosthodontics and the people at large. The latest innovative methods like digital and implant dentistry have brought about a drastic transformation in the realm of dentistry. The conference has also highlighted the gold standards in the field of Prosthodontics and how we are entering into the golden era of Prosthodontics through digital prosthodontics.

 

Dr B C Shroff, Professor Emeritus’s oration was dedicated to demystifying the enigmas a Prosthodontist faces when operating with digital tools and software. It promises to be a trailblazer in the digital ecosystem, a spine-tingling experience for the most compelling use of the software.

 

This was a fantastic opportunity to connect prosthodontists from across the world, as the offline (physical) conference is being conducted after a gap of two years because of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, during COVID-19, online conferences have been organised. This conference aims to ensure that the field of prosthodontics must grow both – scientifically and clinically.

 

The Indian Prosthodontic Society is a strong body of over 6000 professionals and has been emerging to play a leading role in promoting total Prosthodontic care and rehabilitation in India. the world’s most well-orchestrated scientific society and has made Prosthodontics a forerunner in the evolution of dental practice and science, nationally as well as internationally.
