Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli organized three-day annual alumni meet – IIMpressions 2023 from 26th January 2023 to 28th January 2023. The event made the alumni get into the train of nostalgia and reminisce about their memories of campus and rekindle their bonds with one another.
The event began with an invocation song along with the lightening of the lamp by the dignitaries, followed by the welcome address by Prof K S Manikandan, Chairperson-Alumni Relations, who expressed his gratitude for the presence of the alumni and mentioned that alumni are the most significant stakeholders because they are inextricably linked to the institution.
Dr. Pawan Kumar Singh, Director, IIM Tiruchirappalli, addressed the gathering and appreciated the presence of the alumni. He then mentioned about the launch of the alumni mentorship programme and emphasized the relevance of the theme “Joy of struggle”, as there is great joy in imparting knowledge and experience to others.
The first issue of Alumni Digest, the first-ever edition of the annual alumni newsletter, was also unveiled at the event, along with the launch of the alumni mentorship programme to facilitate improved guidance to the current students. Other fun activities like musical chairs were planned to engage the alumni and faculty, followed by the lightening of the sky lanterns.
Various engaging games were organized over the span of three days by the Alumni Committee of the institute such as pictionary which helped the alumni bond with the current students better and a maze game which tested the team-building skills of the participants followed by energetic performances by the alumni. Other recreational activities such as a treasure hunt, that required the alumni to re-explore the entire campus with zeal and enthusiasm, were also organised making “IIMpressions” a memorable event for the alumni.
