Health Ministers’ Conclave: Govt is committed to provide accessible healthcare to all citizens, says Dr Mansukh Mandaviya

Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr Mansukh Mandaviya said that Community Health Officials are key to achieving Universal Health Coverage. Addressing the closing ceremony of the two-day-long national conclave of Universal Health Coverage in Varanasi today, the Union Minister said that the government is committed to provide easy access to healthcare to all citizens. He described India’s model of healthcare as unique as it is based on service and not commerce. He appealed to all healthcare providers to work with affection and dedication.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also addressed the Health Ministers’ Conclave. He said India’s Covid management model has been praised worldwide and the country was able to bounce back from the shock provided by the pandemic. He said, India is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, today. The Chief Minister said, there were only 12 government medical colleges until 2017 in Uttar Pradesh but in the last five years his government has constructed over 35 medical colleges and is working to provide at least one medical college in each district. He said that the reduction of the deaths of infants by 95% caused by Acute Encephalitis and Japanese Encephalitis in the State is a testimony to the improved health facilities in Uttar Pradesh.
