GH Gandhi Nagar conducts special NCD screenings to mark World Diabetes Day

JAMMU : Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar conducted 3- day special screening OPDs from Nov 12, 2022, for non-communicable diseases to mark World Diabetes Day program.

The hospital conducted the special screenings on the theme “Access to Diabetic Care” for the overall year 2021-2023 and “Education to Protect Tomorrow”for 2022.

The World Diabetes Day activities started from 12th November 2022, by conducting 100 percent screening of non-communicable diseases for Diabetes and hypertension above 30 years of age at 3 designated places in the hospital.

On 13th November, blue illumination of the OPD block was done, as blue colour selected by WHO is colour of sky & it unites all countries & global diabetes community to fight the diabetic pandemic.

On the third day today, the global diabetic walk was flagged off by the Medical superintendent, Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Over 300 para medical students, holding banners, hoardings & placards displaying diabetes IEC content participated in the rally. Diabetic walk rally, passed through diabetic detection camps held at Green Belt Park & Gole Market Gandhi Nagar Jammu. Corporaters, Rahul Kumar & Bhanu Mahajan actively helped in organizing detections camps at 2 locations.

The global diabetic walk ended at the main entrance of Gandhi Nagar, Hospital. The Diabetic Day activity also included a seminar on world diabetic day organized by the Department of medicine, Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
