UDHAMPUR : Career Counselling, Guidance and Placement (CCGP) Cell of Government College for Women, Udhampur today organised an awareness lecture on “Physical Education and related Career Avenues” under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative of Govt. of India.

The College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Monika Sharma, was the chief guest of the occasion. She appreciated and motivated the organisers to conduct such activities on regular intervals.

Prof. Yash Paul, (HOD History) welcomed the chief guest and the resource person of today’s event. Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Physical Director of GCW Udhampur. In his presentation, he made the students aware about the various Career opportunities in the field of physical Education. He also enlightened the students that Physical education, exercise science and sports field are amongst the fastest growing professions in contemporary science. He also made students familiar with various universities offering undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral courses in physical education.

The formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Shama Rani. (Dept. of Dogri) As many as 60 students attended the lecture. The whole event was organised by Arun Gupta, Librarian and Dr. Amit Kumar, Department of Physics.
