AMU faculty member presents work on impact of funded and non-funded research

Aligarh : Dr Mohammad Nazim, faculty member, Department of Library and Information Science, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) deliberated the value of research funding for knowledge creation and dissemination while presenting his research on ‘Academic Impact of Funded and Non- Funded Research in Library and Information Science’ at the 2nd Virtual International Conference on Library and Information Science (VISCLIS-2022) of the SLTC Research University, Colombo, Sri Lanka.

He discussed the impact of the grant award on a set of output indicators measuring the creation of new research results, its relevance, as well as its accessibility and dissemination.

According to Dr Nazim, “Different funding agencies fund only 14 percent of library and information science research and the funded research has a more significant academic impact than non-funded research”.

His student, Altaf Ali assisted him in the research presentation.
