AMU faculty member become Mentor in ‘Global Sustainability Space Challenge’

Aligarh : Dr Lamay Bin Sabir, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will provide guidance on using the powerful and catalytic effect of entrepreneurship to achieve Sustainable Development Goals.

He has been selected as a Mentor in the ‘Global Sustainability Space Challenge (GSSC) 2022’ initiated and organised for impact by Qatar University in partnership with Metavisionaries, ICE Cubes Service, Space Applications Service, International Space University and Club for the Future founded by Blue Origin.

“It is imperative to make the budding entrepreneurs understand that they can pursue economic viability and at the same time contribute to sustainable development by reducing inequality, enhancing social cohesion and tackling environmental challenges”, said Dr Lamay who will be mentoring student teams from Qatar, Egypt, and Latin America in developing business ideas using space technologies to build sustainable supply chains.

Extending congratulations, Prof Jamal A Farooquie (Chairman, Department of Business Administration) said: “The university community stands proud of the achievement of Dr Lamay for getting selected in the programme. He is among only a few faculty members from USA, Qatar, Lithuania, Italy, Malta, Mexico and Romania based universities who have been selected as mentors”.
