Amit mentors Smailpur Panchayat towards quality working during B2V4 visit

SAMBA : Secretary, Mining Department, Amit Sharma, conducted an extensive two day tour of Smailpur Panchayat, Bari Brahmana under ongoing ‘Back to Village’ phase IV programme across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Sarpanch of the Panchayat, Balwant Singh Manhas and others apprised the Secretary about the status of ongoing development works in this progressive Smailpur Panchayat.

During the visit, Amit Sharma held multiple meetings in the Panchayat Ghar with the officers and officials of all the line departments besides locals and PRI members.

He shared the broader vision of Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, and Chief Secretary, Dr Arun K Mehta towards steering the UT towards a transformed world of growth and development.

Secretary was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Anuradha Gupta, ACD, Sidharath Dhiman, DPO, Joginder Jasrotia, BDO Bari Brahmana, Suraj Singh besides BDC Chairperson Bari Brahmana, Rajni Devi and DDC member, Suraiya Begum, during the visit and series of core committee meetings held at Panchayat Bhawan.

Secretary, while addressing the meetings, emphasized upon all to create massive awareness in the society regarding the ill effects of drug addiction thus becoming whistle blowers towards eradicating this social evil. He asked the participants to make proper use of more than 200 online services being extended by different departments. He exhorted upon all stakeholders to work collectively towards shaping Smailpur as one of the model panchayats of Samba district.

He also created awareness towards drinking clean and safe water and arranged a live demonstration by PHE department in this reagrd. He mentioned that Youth Club, Mahila Club, Senior Citizens Club and Pani Samities should meet on a regular basis as mandated for achieving the set targets.

Amit Sharma also inaugurated a major road work leading to Matador Stand of the village.

Later, Secretary toured Amrit Sarovar which is a natural pond located adjacent to a famous local deity temple.

During the two day event in Smailpur Panchayat, Secretary visited various Government institutions including schools, healthcare centres, anganwadi centres, sports stadium and development work sites.

He also met and interacted with the young players of the Panchayat during a sports event organized in collaboration with the police department in the Panchayat.

He distributed baby kits, sports equipment and agriculture seeds among the beneficiaries and visited different departmental stalls of Smailpur Village Hatt.

Besides, Amit Sharma addressed several local issues of the Panchayat on the spot.
