7-Day NCC Week celebration concludes in GDC Udhampur

UDHAMPUR : To Commemorate the 75th NCC Day and celebrate NCC week, the NCC Cadets of Government Degree College Udhampur of 2nd J&K girls Bn and 2nd J&K Boys Bn organised a series of activities under the stewardship of Principal Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta and supervision of ANO Major Prof. Kamal Kishore and Captain Prof. Shivani Sharma.

On the first day of the weeklong event, 14 NCC cadets of 2nd J&K girls Bn cleaned the adopted river Devika under the Puneet Sagar Abhiyaan and interacted with locals and spread awareness among people by making posters, while on day 2 the NCC cadets draw wall paintings and contributed in the beautification of college under “My College My Pride” campaign. A total of 15 SW and 4 SD cadets participated in this drive.

A group of 20 cadets of 2nd J&K Boys Bn and 15 cadets of 2nd J&K girls bn visited Jagriti Old Age Home and Bal ashram on Day 3. They interacted with the inmates and donated to them the daily necessities. They spent the whole day with inmates of the old age home and listened to their views and experiences. The inmates were overwhelmed by their gesture.

On day 4, 15 SW cadets, under the initiative Green India Campaign, contributed towards the beautification of the botanical garden. The cadets went a step further and adopted the already planted trees .

The Day 5 witnessed hosting of a seminar on the topic “SOCIAL IMPLICATIONS OF NCC.” 5 cadets JUO Rimzim, SUO Ridham, JUO Annanya, cdt Rittika, cdt Sandhya expressed their views and discussed the duty of cadets towards our society.

On 26th November, 14 NCC cadets participated in Blood Donation camp organized by NCC group HQ Jammu and coordinated by 2nd J & K girls Bn in collaboration with Military Hospital Udhampur. ANO Captain Shivani Sharma, CPL Sonali Jamwal , SUO Ridham and SUO Vishal along with 6 SD cadets donated blood and all the donors were appreciated with certificates and caps. The donors were appreciated by the Principal of the college.

On 27th Nov, 2022 the team leaders of all the 6 activities were facilitated by the Principal Prof. Romesh Kumar Gupta .
